Filmed during the 2011 Esalen Arts Festival, Agnes Baker Pilgrim spoke to the importance of water in all aspects of our lives. We decided to capture her message for all to hear.

‘WATER’ has been selected for a feature in an upcoming exhibition on the International Museum for Women website. The International Museum of Women is featuring Agnes Baker Pilgrim and the 13 Indigenous Grandmothers in our “Heroes” feature (to be released April 2012).
MAMA: Motherhood Around the Globe is an online exhibition of global art, voices and ideas. 600,000 online visitors come annually to view IMOW’s galleries– to be inspired, connect, and take action on issues that matter.

The Syndicate helped Project Wave of Optimism tell their story through a mini-doc that highlights the work they are doing to improve surfing’s global footprint and ensure surf-related tourism has a positive, responsible impact on the cultures it contacts.

We were inspired to create this event by a recent Canon commercial featuring users playing tag with cameras. It looked like too much fun- so we thought, why not have our own? Come out and get involved on the 23rd of July to make this a regular event in Santa Cruz. We can’t wait to see you out there!

Here’s how we’ll do it:

First things first:

1. Meet downtown at the Clock-tower at 2pm on July 23rd, 2011.
2. Bring your digital camera- remember to charge those batteries and bring an empty memory card!
3. Your friends
4. BOTH A RED AND BLUE SHIRT.

There will be 3 different events:

I. Freeze tag

Objective: Grab the most shots of the other team in a limited amount of time, while avoiding getting your picture taken. Run! Hide! Leap! Shoot!

Setting: Science Hill @ UCSC

Winner: The team that takes the most photos of the opposing team

II. Scavenger Hunt

Objective: Capture as many photgraphs of the listed items/objects/people/situations as you can in the time given.

Setting: Throughout downtown Santa Cruz

Winner: The team that captures the most photos on the list

III. Instant Short/Photo Film Contest

Objective: Create a 1 minute film (or sequence of photographs) without cuts to be shown immediately after completion.

Setting: Anywhere in Santa Cruz! Spread out!

Winner: Group with the most creative and original film, as judged by all contestants

Last Monday, May 16th, Destructoid.com posted the new ACHRON pre-launch trailer recently produced by the Cinematic Syndicate.

ACHRON is not your average real-time-strategy game as it boasts the ability to undo one’s mistakes & plan for the future  by manipulating time as one of its core resources- a first for this genre.

You can learn more about ACHRON at their website, www.achrongame.com, as well as purchase a preview copy of the game which allows you to play the beta release as well as the first release when it hits shelves in a couple of months.

We worked with Sarah Willis and the marketing department from Niman Ranch to produce, shoot and edit a comprehensive training video for Niman Ranch food demonstrators. All footage was shot on location at New Leaf Market in Santa Cruz, California with other video clips of the Willis Ranch and other Niman ranchers and farmers.

Went through 2 batteries and thus so I had to make a simple crop & edit because the tripod moved a little.

-RAW 5k on a Canon 550D with Magic Lantern Firmware
-Timelapse Mode, 10sec interval
-Comped in 2K in After Effects, and colored with Synthetic Aperture plugin.
